Adoption Corner and SBFA Rescues

Several adult Somalis are available who are in need of good, loving homes.  Proceeds from their adoption benefit The Somali Breeders and Fanciers' Association, Inc., a charitable organization dedicated to the Somali breed, its advancement, preservation, and rescue.   SBFA is incorporated as a charitable organization, and as such contributions may be tax deductible (consult your tax advisor about your personal tax situation).   We also work with National Abyssinian Rescue and occasionally foster cats and help in the placement of Abys for them.  Feel free to email us to learn more about who is in need of homes and what the special arrangements are, please e-mail us.

All Somalis placed through SBFA are placed with a contract, neutered or spayed prior to placement, are thoroughly vet-checked prior to adoption and are FeLV / FIV negative. We do our best to make the best match for both the prospective adoptive family as well as the adoptee, so please do not be offended by our many questions.

To see some of the cats we have placed, please click here.  We also have several cats not yet listed here, so if you don't see what you are looking for, please email us for more information.  Please also visit Sky Ark - Saving animals one flight at a time.

Are you interested in being kept informed of any Somalis available for adoption through SBFA?  We have created a Yahoo group to help share this information.  To join the group, please send an email to AdoptASomali-subscribe @ yahoogroups.com (remove spaces preceding and following @ symbol).  You will be asked to complete an adoption application in order to join.  The list is moderated and will notify subscribers of new rescues, updated information on the Somalis listed here, and assistance needs (foster care, transportation, etc.)
