Breeders and Fanciers' Association, Inc.
Fawn Color Study and Discussion As is evidenced by the many variations shown below, the fawn color of the Somali comes in many different shades. Each of the cats shown below is registered with at least one of the main registries (CFA, TICA, etc.) as a fawn. Are they all really fawns? Which is the desirable shade and why? There are no right or wrong answers here and we are certainly hoping to spark some conversation and debate with this discussion. What "should" the fawn color look like? Is it possible that some of the cats shown below are not really fawns at all but are perhaps lavenders or lilacs? Your comments and observations are encouraged! Would you like to submit a photo for the color study? Send an unenhanced , sharp photo of your cat with its pedigree to SBFA. Your cat will be assigned a letter which will be used for identification purposes: This letter will be shared with the owner only so that they can identify their cat in the discussion |
